New Soaps

This weekend was rather hectic (and hot), but we did manage to make some new soaps

Here are the Moon Glow, Spa Bar, Pink Grapefruit and way in the back, Spicy Chai tea soaps out of the molds and getting read to be cut.

Here we have started to cut them. We have been experimenting with pot swirling and swirling techniques in general, and we are pretty happy with how the Moon Glow came out

Of course, we also had to make some fun soap as well:

I tried re-taking my sea shell soap set with more lighting

Photo #1 is right off of my camera, the photo is rather dark and you can't really see the detail. Photo #2 I edited in Picasa and used the "I'm feeling lucky" button. This photo is lighter but it is on the yellow side. In Photo number 3, I manually adjusted the highlights. It is lighter than Photo #1, but again it lacks details and crispness. Back to the drawing board.

Taking photos for etsy

I was hoping to take some more pictures last night but life interfered. I have a light tent, but my photos still seem to come out on the dark side. I have been trying to lighten them up with picassa, but since most of our products tend to be on the light side, they just seem faded when they are lightened. The other problem is that when I try to lighten 3 or 4 different photos, it's hard to keep the soap and the background colors the same. I've decided we need more lights, so tonight (hopefully) I am going to try adding more lights and see what happens.

With this photo I tried using a lightly detailed background and the purple color came out the way I wanted it to.

With this Photo, I used a gray peice of paper as the background and the photo came out really dark. When I lightened it, it also lightened the purple rose.

New Rose Soap Set

We've been playing around with colors and this is our new Fushia Rose Gift Set. We've also been working on taking better photos. It's not alot of fun, but we are learning some new things

Clover Pottery

I just love this piece from Clover Pottery:



This plate is has a natural colored Terra Sig with an occasional "ghosting" effect. This means that a reverse coloring just happens and she has no control over it. Its a pretty special thing when it happens. This plate also has a very subtle design and has two holes at the top of it so you can hant it on your wall.
